Applications Now Open for the 2026
M2 Summer Music Program
Don't miss your chance to apply for this year's M2 Summer Music Program!
This coming year's program will be taking place from July 11–26 at the Midland School,
Los Olivos, offering a serene new location for our growing program. We are excited
to be expanding the duration of this program to a 2-week session for both our M2 Camp
and M2 Piano Intensive which will be taking place concurrently and directed by both
Davis Reinhart and Sylvia Jiang
M2 Camp
The M2 Camp is designed for students ages 6–18 who come from a variety of musical
backgrounds to study with world-class concert artists. The students will enjoy a curriculum
consisting of musical ensemble, drumline, and general music theory. All students will have
the chance to perform in the final M2 Showcase, taking place in Allan Hancock's brand
new performing arts complex.
M2 Day Camp Dates
Week 1: July 13 – 17
Week 2: July 20 – 24
M2 Showcase: Saturday, July 25
For families interested in M2 Camp sleep-away option, students are housed
in the Midland cabins and provided with three meals per day plus a snack.
During the weekends, boarders may elect to study instruments privately as
well as take part in supervised off-campus excursions. Students will also have
the opportunity to attend faculty recitals and explore the Santa Ynez Valley.

M2 Piano Intensive
Our M2 Piano Intensive selects a small cohort of highly talented and developing
pianists of all ages and from around the world to study with world-class piano
teachers. This year, M2 will play host for two new teaching artists in 2026 including
Yi-Yang Chen, Associate Professor of Piano at the University of Kansas, and
Chi-Ho Han, an Associate Professor of Music at Indiana University. We are thrilled
to welcome these two world renowned piano pedagogues and performers
to our teaching roster.
The Intensive will be headed by our Artistic Director, Sylvia Jiang, and will offer an
exclusive opportunity for highly gifted and developing pianists from around the
world to receive individualized attention on their playing. The Intensive offers a
unique opportunity to develop lasting relationships with world-class teachers and
engage with the local community through multiple outreach performances.

We’re excited to celebrate a milestone year—our 5th Annual Spring Residency
is here! 🎉 From March 27 – April 2, M2 Program Directors Sylvia Jiang and
Davis Reinhart will be immersing themselves in the Santa Ynez Valley through
live performances, school outreach, and meaningful community connections.
The week begins with a free community concert hosted by
Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 28, from 6:30–7:30 PM.
In this intimate evening performance, Sylvia and Davis will take audiences on a musical
journey across genres, sharing the stories that shape their artistry and their relationship
to the Santa Ynez Valley.
This year’s Residency also marks an exciting new partnership with Allan Hancock College
and the Allan Hancock College Foundation. On Thursday, April 2, from 12:00–1:00 PM,
the College will co-present Sylvia Jiang in a special solo piano performance.
Join us as we celebrate five years of music, mentorship,
and community and as we look ahead to what's next.
